Unbelievable cake!

I'm home from another fantastic Ultimate Scrapbook Retreat - possibly one of the best yet - and I couldn't wait to share some of the highlights. Check out the birthday cake that Heather had designed!

The creator of this cake is Debbie of Sweet Specialty Cake & Treat Boutique, 604-466-3707, 22346 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 3J2. Debbie's boutique is brand new and I'm predicting big things for her and her cakes. If you're local, be sure to check it out.

Special thanks to Heather and Donna for all the birthday surprises and to all my friends who were there to share the birthday fun!

**UPDATE**

So....more about the retreat! It was a fantastic group this time. Really great company. And the weather! Awesome. We ate most of our meals outside on the patio overlooking the lake. Chef Ray mixed it up a bit and we tried some different menu items. Seafood pasta! Butter chicken! YUM! The only problem with the food is that its soooo good, that when I go home I'm spoiled and nothing looks appealing and I don't feel like cooking.

Did I get anything done? Actually yes! I did manage to fit in a few layouts between festivities and meals and movies and canoeing.

Group photo!

It occurred to me that I don't have any photos of people scrapping... but we did. I swear.

So there's this retreat coming up...

...and it's not like any other retreat.

Its got something that sets it apart from ALL OTHER retreats around here. Its something that everyone - once they are at a retreat, having a blast - wishes they had.

Can you guess what it is??

AN EXTRA DAY!

That's right, we're talking about a 3 night, 4 day retreat. 24 extra hours of scrapping indulgence and excitement!

When: April 24 to April 27 (Thurs-Sun)

Where: Maple Ridge (full details at The Ultimate Retreat Blog)

Price: $425

Includes: 3 nights accommodation (your own bed & shower, bedding & linens included), 24/7 scrapping, all meals from Thursday night snack to Sunday lunch, unlimited hot & cold beverages, games, prizes, movies, and more.

The only reasons it's not sold out yet (like all the other 2008 Ultimate Retreats) are that extra day and the price tag that goes along with it.

I will be there with the Memory Workshop store as always. Can you tell why I love my job so much????

Visit The Ultimate Retreat Blog for more details and to download the registration form.

Scrapping Away RETREAT MADNESS!

I'm writing to you today from the Scrapping Away retreat at Harrison Hot Springs, BC!

Last night we were visited by Jackie Ludlage and Katharina Doyle of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. They are in town for the BC Creative Expo and Michelle invited them to check out her retreat. They came to do a make & take and product demo (which was a huge hit!) and judge some contests.

I gotta tell you...I wish they could have stayed longer and hung out because they are HILARIOUS! They are some of the nuttiest nicest people you'll ever meet! I was trying to be all businesslike and professional, but they were having none of that.

Bev was the winner of the Best Name Tag contest.

If you ever get a chance, come out to a scrappingaway.com retreat. Michelle is a fantastic organizer, and I've never met anyone who didn't have fun at a scrapbook retreat. It's impossible not to!
(Next post, I'll tell you all about "the fun table!")
