Sharing some layouts

I scrapped! It's been a while since I scrapped at home and worked on layouts that are purely personal -- not kit projects or sample layouts. Hey, I'm not complaining about kit layouts. The kits are a great way for me to get 6 or more pages scrapped each month (hint, hint)

So I thought I'd share my latest layouts and include my sources of inspiration. I'm a big fan of scraplifting. Why reinvent the wheel? Most of the time you can start with a layout idea and the page you end up with looks almost nothing like the original. With a different colour scheme and your own photos, journaling and theme, it really IS an original!

This time I was working with the summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. I love this mag!! Lots of reader submissions, a clean and easy-on-the-eyes layout, plenty of product and technique tips without being "over the top," and a good dose of multi-photo and 2-page layouts. In a nutshell -- real ideas for everyday scrapbookers.

If you don't have a copy of the latest issue, just ask! The Memory Workshop is giving away free copies while supplies last.

The inspiration for this page came from page 54, submitted by Kim Moreno. Gosh she does nice stuff! Check out her blog!

This one is all me. I was just working with the photos I had on hand. I took wayyyy too many photos from our day at White Rock and this wasy a good way to get all the cousins onto one page. (I'll scrap the rest of our beach adventures later) I am IN LOVE with kraft coloured cardstock! I find myself reaching for it for almost every layout lately. I think it makes whites and colours POP. You know who else uses alot of kraft? Cari Locken. She's an occasional contributor to The Memory Workshop, as well as a popular teacher at retreats and local scrapbooking stores and events.

This layout makes me smile. My 9yo daughter rode the wooden roller coaster at Playland for the first time and I had no idea what her reaction would be. She loved it and rode it 3 more times that day. Inspiration is SC&T page 28 by Michelle Engel.
Products used: Top layout - Adornit papers & embellishments, Prima stamp. Bottom layouts - Chatterbox patterned papers, Bazzill diecut paper, Basic Grey, Pink Paisley, American Crafts & Doodlebug alpha stickers, Making Memories embellishments, Creative Imaginations rubon journaling square.
